Setting New Year’s Resolutions

We’re almost at the end of 2022 which means that many people are setting resolutions for 2023. Setting a New Year’s resolution can be fun and exciting, but many times they are forgotten within weeks. One study shows that only 12% of people completed their New Year’s resolution. Some of the most common reolustions include losing weight, sticking to a healthier diet, exercising regularly, and quitting smoking. These resolutions can lead to a healthier lifestyle which is great. We want you to be successful in your resolutions this year, so here are some tips.

Make your Goal Specific

Instead of “lose weight” or “workout more” choose a more specific, definite goal like “lose 10 pounds” or “workour 4 days a week”. This makes it easier to track your goal and keep yourself on track.

Limit your Resolutions

Making resolutions can be easy to get carried away with, causing us to make more than we can handle. Although we may want to change many parts of our life at the same time, this is often overwhelming and causes all of our resolutions to be given up. It is better to start with a few managable goals and after a few months add a new goal if you feel able.

Make a Plan

Instead of starting your resolution on New Year’s, start planning early to help yourself be successful. This can include coming up with times to workout, finding healthy recipies to try, or letting your friends and family know your goal so they can help you. Prepare as much as you can to give yourself the tools to meet your goal.

There are many other ways to help make and keep your resolutions, so don’t be afraid to do more research and reach out to other people for help. Regardless of your resolution, we hope 2023 is even happier and healthier than 2022.
